In Perfect Dark, this is the default pistol carried by adult Skedar on Attack Ship, Skedar Ruins, MBR and War.
The Mauler is a great, great weapon. It carries 20 rounds and is best used in its secondary, charge-up mode. It'll charge five bullets (or whatever you have left), store the charge indefinitely and then release a single shot carrying five times the damage. This can kill an adult Skedar in a single shot. Although, if you miss, you're screwed, as you have to wait for the weapon to completely charge before you can try again, which takes a second or two, during which time a typical Skedar (which is also holding a Mauler) can kill you outright. At this point you're better off holding down Z and continuing to fire single, un-charged shots.
