Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is a Stealth TPS released in November of 2001 by Konami for the Playstation 2. It was later remade, with additions, as Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for the PS2 and Xbox. The series continued with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

The current proven World Record for a speedrun of MGS2's Tanker episode on Extreme difficulty is 10 minutes and 36 seconds, achieved by Adnan Kauser on March 1st, 2005.
