Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog is an Action/Platformer released in June of 1991 by Sega for the Sega Genesis. It should not be confused with the 2006 "next generation" Sonic game with the same title. The series continued with Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Speedrun

The Speed Demos Archive hosts Sonic the Hedgehog competition. The current proven World Record for a complete-game Sonic speedrun on the NTSC version is 17 minutes and 52 seconds, achieved by Joe Stanski on June 11th, 2007.
