Super Mario Kart is the first video game in the Mario Kart series, released in September of 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The popular series continued with Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and Mario Kart DS.
