The origins of the word pwn are shrouded in mystery, but it was probably originally a typo of the word "own", which has the same meaning. To pwn something is to dominate something, and to be pwnage is to be awesome.
In GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark it specifically means "to hold all three world records on a mission simultaneously".
