* Contestants were not ranked by seeds.

* The Contest field was expanded to 128 players

* Four Divisions gave the new generation a great opportunity to make the field.

* Round One consisted of 32 four-way battles with only the winner advancing to a traditional 1 vs 1 format for the remainder of the Contest.

* Randomly-placed matchups disallowed vote rallying.

* With the field expanded, the Champs returned! (except Clark and Ngamer)

The Contest kicked off on '''Friday, June 1st of 2007'''.  To vote, Eliters sent the name of their daily choice to [[Ngamer]] over AOL Instant Messenger at '''ImNgamer''', or mailed their choice to '''ngamer AT gmail DOT com'''.  To be eligable to vote, one of four conditions had to be met:
