== Introduction ==

Phil joined the [[Perfect Dark]] Elite in Summer 2000, becoming one of its first 20 members. Some time later he confessed to doctoring photographic evidence of some of his claimed times and was removed from the rankings. Photographic proof has never been admissible as evidence in [[The Elite]] since.

Phil "octo" McCanna was one of the first members of the-elite, and today is an active member of the chat community as well as various gaming communities.  Octo is primarily known for achievements in Perfect Dark multiplayer, MarioKart 64 and Guitar Hero III. Phil currently does administrative work with the-elite.net as the updater for the Perfect Dark Elite and Goldeneye Elite.

 

Despite this blunder, he has contributed a lot to The Elite, including creating the original [http://p075.ezboard.com/fperfectdarkeliteperfectdarkelite.showMessage?topicID=649.topic Perfect Dark World Record] topic, as well as a large number of other posts (over 7000!).  He also created the [[Perfect Dark Challenges|Perfect Dark Challenge]] rankings, and is one of the very few people to have beaten [[PD Challenge 30|Challenge 30]] on 3 player by himself.

 

Phil was one of the fastest Karters to reach Legend in [[Mario Kart 64]], having done so in less than 2 months. He is currently ranked Legend C and has many videos of his PRs.  He has also played [[GoldenEye 007|Goldeneye]] (with little success) and created the [[Majora's Mask]] rankings.
