Probably the most awesome weapon in [[Perfect Dark]].
The XR stands for "X-Ray". The Farsight is a blobby cyan-coloured dolphin-shaped sniper rifle which holds eight rounds, reloads at a snail's pace and takes a LONG time between firing. It makes up for this by being able to
# shoot through anything,
# destroy anything in a single shot,
# scope through walls, using X-Ray vision, with almost no limit on zoom range, and
# home in on enemies automatically.
This makes it devastatingly powerful in the hands of a skilled human opponent in the Combat Simulator, and at the very least ''somewhat useful'' on [[Deep Sea]], the only solo mission on which it appears.
The zoom range of the Farsight is apparently unlimited for PAL copies of PD but strictly limited on NTSC. See [[Deep Sea]] for more on this.

Before starting your firing, go to the far right of the firing area, close to the far wall. Kneel down to the 2nd (and lowest) level, and move as close to the counter as possible. Try to aim your first shot so that you can line up the 3 bulls-eyes in your aim (will have to test a bit to see). Whether you simply hold down the firing button untill 3 shots are fired or try to time your tapping does not seem to have much of a difference in how quickly you fire shots. 3.7s should be a cinch this way.
